Why get worked up on dyno numbers, they ean nxt to nothing without a common baseline..The track is what tells the tale of power..

This IX turbo vs. VIII turbo has been hyped all to hell..

The IX turbo has ONE thing over the 8 turbo and that's a bigger compressor housing (NOT wheel). The housing probably offers a little bit more flow but not a significant whp difference at the same psi. That's just a fact.

The IX turbo spools faster than the 8 turbo because it has the MIVEC cams to alter torque at lower rpms. If anything is giving the added torque, it's the MIVEC.

Lastly, there is NO difference between 100% meth kit Aquamist, and 100% Snow Performance when horsepower is being made. The engine doesn't care that the aquamist uses the injectors to start flowing the meth or using just the intake manifold pressure. All the engine "sees" is the meth. It doesn't care what brand of the pump, solenoids, reservoir, etc.. is.

The governing factors to make big horsepower on a stock 8/9 turbo are these:

1) The car. EVERY car responds differently to mods based on how it came out the showroom, how it was built, and how it was taken care of. You can have the same mods on 2 different cars of the same type and they can be off by as much as 30-50whp. This is the #1 factor and unfortunately, something we have very little control over.

2) Mods. Believe it or not, certain mods work well with a car's engine and certain mods don't.

3) Tuner. Absolutely all tuners' skills are NOT the same, therefore don't expect one tuner to make the same whp on a car as another tuner. Get the right tuner.

4) Dyno. There are several dynos that read a certain way and have certain calibrations, therefore, it's impossible to try to get the same number as someone else on a different reading dyno.

That's my 2 cents..

Well I found out this morning that the mani to the hotside bolts were so loose I could take them off with with my fingers......Can we say leak LOL

I have new plugs coming next week. If I can't get this thing running right by then then I will have to do a compression test......

I know from firsthand experience that it must be a very fun street car as I made 385whp/403wtq on E85 with stock cams on my 9 and minimal bolt ons. Congrats! Now I just got to upgrade my clutch as it doesn't like that newfound torque.

That's more inline with my car's output. I don't have cams and was tuned on 91 with meth. Also probably don't have anywhere near as many mods. I'm sure if I threw cams on that I could put down 380whp.

Good numbers bro!
