Shipping a car from Hawaii to CA

Does anyone have any experience, shipping between HI and CA? Who did you use? How much did you spend? I have only found two companies, horizon and Matson. I need to ship my car from Honolulu to Long Beach, CA in June and I'm looking for some advice.

I don't have any experinece with either but I know Matson is a pretty small container terminal and it is real easy to get to so you may want to try them.

Thanks, that wasn't helpful at all. I don't live in CA, but I will be soon, and selling my car is not a option.

It cost me $900 to ship my Evo from Hawaii to Oakland and I used Matson. They assured me it would be fine even though it was lowered with S-techs. A week later when it arrived the front lip was almost ripped off and a brace was bent underneath the car. They ended up covering all the repairs but it was annoying because they acted like nothing happened until I inspected the car myself. If you're at stock height you should be fine.

btw I was actually living in Hawaii and bought the car there still not sure why I moved back to the mainland. The drive from Cali to Colorado was fun but nothing like cruising around the island

What if you have a small battery? The vehicle can't be sitting on the boat for more than a couple of days unattended or else, the battery dies. Am I going to have them disconnect my battery until the boat arrives at the final destination or what?
