EGT (pyro) question !!!

what would be the safe exhaust temp reading for a 500+ hp evo running on pump gas ???? any ideas ?

EGTs are transparent to HP. Do you have any top end work done? Where did you put the probe? If you have a stock motor i would say 1650 is where you want to max out.

last tune was done without this gauge, but now I am thinking to put one in because my AEM wideband is acting up ! head is fully done, port/polish, valves ect...

What kind of valves did you get? Sodium filled, stainless, inconel? Your egts regardless should be under 1700F

I am usually about 680-720C when cruising and about 800-850C WOT. This is on pump gas.

I never really understood why people were so lazy and dont even attempt to use the search button. Has our society really at the point of being ignorant and not able to help themselves or am I just really proactive and search first?

I dunno. I personally search like crazy when i can because i tend to find threads where additional questions are asked that i wouldnt have thought of. But i sometimes find that searching can be fruitless. Searching is a skill that can take some time to figure out though. Not all of us live here so you have to let it go sometimes.
