Rav82er,
An ******* sales person like that is not worth your time getting **** at him. There are many Mitsu dealers around LA area that are selling Evos for MSRP or under, just call around and you'll be driving home a new toy soon!

Rav82er,

It may help to talk to the right people. Many members here have gotten their EVO from Miller Mitsu at or under MSRP. This was emailed to me not to long ago...

Miller Mitsubishi No Excuses Summer clearance event!2003 Mitsubishi Evolution 8 msrp........$30.812 , Miller discount......$1824 SALE PRICE.......... $28.988+ fees 1 at this price vin#JA3AH86F33U091669 options: power glass sunroof, large carbon fiber spoiler location is 5319 Van Nuys Blvd. Van Nuys CA 91401 Contact person is Milenko Kojic direct line 310-467-1443.

Now this is just for that particular one, but i'm sure if you're willing to wait a bit they can get you what you want. Good luck.

This is also the man to talk to.

Well i had similar experience a few months back, "sales manager" tried to pressure me to buy the EVO8 for $31,000, walked out of it. Then the "sales person" called me back in a couple weeks later, he want to give me the evo8 for $28,800 w/ all the shibangs, wings, sunroof..out the door i went again. A few more months ill probably stop by again, see if i can get it for $26000. The first time i went, they started talking a bit about the car, 2fast 2 furious, enkie, brembo then i shot back STi they seemed to quiet down after that. If this car is really limited so is my money.

When you goto dealership, act like your interested on the car(not you want to buy the car), make them think you can wait, dont cave in. If $28000 is what you want stick to it, not $28,001.

Dealers are desperate, with this economy, i wouldnt be surprised if certain dealership starts shutting down.

Looking young can be a big disadvantage when buying a car.

Damn...all these stories about moron salespeople in Mitsu dealerships make me want to spend a Saturday driving from one Mitsu dealer to the next (in my wife's Matrix) and totally ****ing with any moron salespeople I encounter just for fun.

Cheap entertainment...I could even record the conversations and/or have my wife videotape it...

You need to talk to Adam Wetzel at Miller, no one else.

Take it easy Rav82er. I used to be like you as well when I got all these treatment like you know nothing about the car. But now I just step back and take off. There's no point arguing with a saleperson that claim to know better than you but actually know much less than you do about cars, especially for personal insult of stuff like that.

After all, I'm there to check out my favorite car, and if the whole experience is ruined by that idiot, I won't even bother to proceed with them and would pick another dealer for that. I'm sure if the saleperson pissed enuff person with that attitude, it'll definitely show on the sales record and guess who's the loser eventually there?

Hope that helps...

just dont forget that some salesguys are dsm'ers at heart, I know everything about the car, my card says evo specialist which sucks because the guy on this site named evo specialist is kinda lame, and i work directly with shiv at vishnu, he i, and brett over there talk all the time and send customers to each other, ive sold 18 of my dealers 24 sold evos, and many of my customers/aquantinces are on this site and we talk all the time. the other night at a restaurant i had two people come in and say "hey whatsup, its the evo guy, hows it going!" Just ask for the right person when you get there, sales reps are free agents and can say whatever you want, you need to ask for the person in the know, good luck, -one of you

Yelling at the guy definately didn't accomplish anything. If you want to get back at a salesman for treating you like crap, my suggested route would be to buy the car (either elsewhere or from a different salesman), and go back to the dealer and look him up. After getting a similar treatment from the Honda dealer when I was S2000 shopping, I bought one elsewhere and took it back. The look on the a-hole salesman's face was worth the 100 mile drive to work with someone who understood customer relations. Going back with your car makes the salesman realize he lost out on a posh commision by treating you like crap... hit him in the wallet!

Better luck shopping elsewhere!

The way Dealerships should not do business

You should come down to San Diego and get your Evo VIII. I bought mine three weeks ago and paid $33,560 out the door! The sales guy was really cool. He let my buddy and I test drive the car all day before I bought it.

If your really interested in purchasing an Evolution, I reconmend doing all your business over the phone since 1) they cant judge you on your apperance 2) its easier to set up an appointment to check out the car, have a salesman ready at that specific time, and guranteed a test drive. 2A) Easier to haggle for a price, since your not on their turf, this gives you the best advantage. 3) if you dont like the atitude or whatever their giving you on the phone conversation, its as easy as bidding them a good day and hanging up the phone and call the next dealer.

I really dont give a damn about the sales aspect, they can bull**** me all day about what the car has, since A) I already know what the car has so let them do their little bull**** skit about its twin turbos and its Ferrari like capabilities. B) Playing stupid will always be your advantage, since thats what the salesmans job is, to see how sharp you are to get the most money out of you C) It really comes down to the almighty dollar wheather or not id buy a new car from a specific dealer.

And always remember, ALWAYS LOWBALL! They can scream MSRP all day but tell them you'd buy this car today for $25,500 or something, if they ***** and moan about that cost, simply leave your contact information, tell them when there ready to make some money so they can pay their bills, 90% of the time they will call back with a more flexable price thats more in your favor (this is where haggling over the phone is the best)

The way dealerships should not do business

Salesmen do suck! All you have to do is play the game. When my buddy and I went to the dealership we took my buddies WRX. They were all over our nuts when we walked in. Went straight for the Evo's and started checking them out. Then the sales guy came over and started taking to us. We told him that we were interested in buying one. He started his little presentation about this and that, we started to BS a little. We just went along with it (ya ya ya, we already know). then he had me fill out some paper work so he could do a credit check. After the credit check he asked if we wanted to go for a test drive. After the test drive I told him I really liked the car but, I didn't want to pay the dealer mark up for it. Aso we started going back and fourth. I finally told him that we where going to go to lunch to think about it and that we would be back. He then offered to take usto lunch, I told him no and that we would be back. I gave him my cell no. and my buddy and went to lunch. The dealer caller called like three times while we were at lunch. Telling me that he could send me out the door with the car for 33 and some change. As soon as we got back to the dealer he took us for another test drive. After the test drive I told him that I really liked the car and I bought it.

vanilla sky,
the salesperson's name is Vincent Curto. When I went it was early in the morning, and there was only a couple of people there. After getting frustrated i asked for his name and he gave me his card. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me he wasn't on property this early.
