compression test = uh oh

So i got the cob stage 2 last week and installed it. car spools great but at around 5k -5500 the car would start to sputter and then the fuel would cut. i have a mbc so i turned it down a little with the same results. i did research on the ap forum and found that alot of people were experiencing this and i need to call cobb. Well i got the idea to do a compression test just to see if everything was A OK. Well... its not. i followed the manual instructions to the "T" and here are my results:

#1 155
#2 130 135 w/ alittle oil
#3 165
#4 165

Yes you are seeing that correctly. I have ring issues with #2. This is not good (obviuiosly) anyone have an idea how much and how long to get this fixed by the mitsu dealer. There is no one around my immediate area as far as shops go.

I wouldnt go to a dealership to fix it, you could get aftermarket parts for a lot cheaper than what a dealer would charge.

To be honest I wouldn't have mitsu. fix it. Also you may just want to be easy on the car for a while and save up and just build the motor, especially if your going to mod it anyways.

Has anyone actually had a complete motor replacement under warranty? Seems like quite a stretch.

I had my Rod and Crank Bearings replaced, along with new Rod Bolts and a little polishing to the crank. This was at 18K and completely stock, with records of oil changes every 3K. James Reese was the service tech. at El Cajon Mitsubishi at the time, and worked with the Rep. on the 100% covered warrenty.

You sure its the rings?

It could be just as well the valves not seating properly you'd have to pop off the head anyways to get the engine built so why not have it pressure tested.
