Will I be ok?

Well earlier in the month i got into a lil fender bender and had to get my bumper, intercooler and radiator fan replaced . All were slightly damaged nothing major. The shop i went to said that if i wanted to i could replace the intercooler with an upgraded one since insurance was covering it and i would pay the difference of the upgrade. So i went ahead and got the AMS FMIC w/ LICP.

Now my car is pretty much stock except for some suspension mods, no engine/power mods.
  • Will i see any gains from this?
  • Is it bad that i have an upgraded FMIC with nothing else installed?
  • Will i run into any problems?
figured since i had to replace the stock FMIC i would upgrade it while i could for $150

I vote for NO NO and NO

Turbo spool up will fill it almost as fast.

Unless you beat down your car at the track at ridiculous speeds, you don't need the extra cooling anyways..

But why not if you have the chance.. it's $$ for future mods.

Have fun!

^^^ Completely agree. You'll be fine. Normally no one would put a big FMIC on this soon into the mod path, but if the opportunity comes why not? You'll have more consistant runs on the track and dynos for certain!

Did the AMS FMIC need bumper and/or undertray trimming?

When it was installed they did have to modify the Splash guard a little bit to but no major surgery was performed. It does look badass, i'll try to get some pics up today.

You're not gonna see any big gains, but after more mods your car will be more efficient and have a little bit more power than a car w/out a fmic.

Because of all this bs I went through with the dealership I bought my car from (really long story), my fmic was my first mod. My car was fine and yours will too.

wow sweet deal on the insurance hook up though. Even if you aren't seeing any tangible benefit its still better than a kick in the schmidtz.
