it sounds like the dealership made a mistake.

OR, like me, he purchased the car during Mitsu's promo in '04 when they were upgrading the warranties to 5/60 Bumper to bumper and 10/100 powertrain.

I know they ran the promo for a while, but you had to purchase your car during those months to be eligible...I have friends with 03s and 04s that both have it and don't

It was no fight at all for me to get this done, but the car was still in warranty at the time. I also had all 4 Brembos replaced for peeling/fading paint with about 400 miles left on the warranty.

I guess it depends on dealership/district manager, but both cases were really effortless for me.
I had to fight a lot, but I got everything replaced that you did as well.

When I bought my EVO. I had the same problem. In fact, the problem was there BEFORE i bought the car. The guy told me, mitsubishi will cover it.

and they did. I went to the mitsubishi shop and they re-coated the wing for free. I think if you have under 40k miles, they'll do it.

I too had an issue with my wing when I bought it...and to this day, Mitsu won't cover claiming it normal wear and tear and I've tried all the dealerships I can think in Nor Cal. I've given up trying to get anything warrantied through satan....I mean Mitsubishi. I'll just redo the wing myself and in meantime, I have a Rexpeed spoiler on order.
