Found a Evolution IX MR

Hello everyone! I just went to a local dealership and found a:

2006 Lancer Evolution IX MR in Wicked White with 9.2k miles on it. . I offered them 25k out the door. Was that a low ball? The reason why I ask is because they responded with a "HELL NO". They countered my offer with 28k + Tax. Anyway just wanted to get some thoughts. The car wasn't very clean. Had quite a bit of corrosion with no Vortex, weird looking antenna, and I believe a Evolution VIII bumper. All and all i was a little worried that the car wasn't a real Evolution IX MR.

well if the car really was a 06 Mr then for that mileage 25k is a very low figure especially for a dealer. 28k seems more reasonable but the car should be clean and not have a VIII bumper.

I really wanted to take a picture. The bumper doesn't have those two holes on the Evo IX. See I don't know much about Evolutions. It was just a guess a mine. The car did look nice.

What is a viii bumper? The u.s. bumper is the same for 03-06?

edit- o u ment the front bumper sorry. maybe the former owner swapped bumpers with a evo VIII to get some cash before he traded it in.

Keep on em. If you keep offering them 25 and nobody else acts interested you will get it.

I did look @ the transmission and it indeed has a "6" speed manual transmission. The car simply didn't look like a Evolution IX MR. Secondly does anyone know of a price I should offer the dealer since 25k otd was too little.

Evo IX has Mivec check the valve cover and see if it say's "MIVEC" embossed on it and if it does it's a IX.

The dealer said I could take a look if I was really interested. The bumper just looked fishy. The interior was really used up and no gauges. Apparently they are re-ordering them from Mitsubishi.

I thought all Evolution IX MR 's had the Vortex generator and two front holes on the bumper?

Those two holes infront of the intercooler i believe. (Sorry I am **** w/ cars.)
