quick question??

Hey guys... Im going to be buying the 3 inch catless downpipe with electronic cutout from QTP (quick time performance). My mods will be ... AEM Short ram intake, forge mbc, walbro 255... and i want to get dyno'd from Sean Ivey when I put it on. I just want to make sure that when I get dyno'd for the cutout open... and when its closed, driving on the street... will there be any damage to the rest of my stock exhuast? Will running rich from the cutout tune with the cutout closed destroy my cat converter? Explain to me what the rest of the exhaust willl have ater the QTP dp? Thanks guys!

Thats in his scenerio... I am also going with the qtp dp because I cant have a loud exhaust on the street... But I want to be tuned FOR the cutout open. And for the most time.. keep it closed. I live in a rough state I can't afford loud exhaust EPA tickets.

I didnt mean to be hostile before by the way... I've seen cat's vaporize from being too hot etc etc... I just dont want to have to replace it. So once again... If I go with the 3 inch elec cutout from QTP... I can hook it right up to the stock exhaust. Tune it for the cutout... Close the cutout. No problems? Thanks for your posts!

Quite all right, I did not realize you were keeping you stock exhaust and cats, makes sense now.

I would say you are going to have to chop up wherever you put it on your exhaust, and I can't see how a Cat can get ruined with the cutout OPEN. There is minimal exhaust gasses going thru the cat with the QTP open, so it would be cooler. (Cat would). I burnt up 4 or so motors on the QTP as well, so make sure you are prepared to replace them when they burn out. The cutout is on a "Y" pipe, so you will get about 60-70% of the flow going out the cutout, and the rest going thru the exhaust...........UNLESS you cap off one arm of the "Y" where it goes thru the exhaust system. If you have a double butterfly electronic valves, it can work from inside the car, otherwise you have to somehow cap off the one going thru the stock exhaust.

It depends on where you hook up the OTP, and where it is in relation to the O2 sensor which will determine if it will run OK. The O2 might send a wrong message to the ECU, causing it to run differently. Hope this helps. Let us now if you get any gains on the dyno.

No no no... I will be getting the new QTP catless downpipe w/ the electronic cutout all in one... Its not just the QTP electric cutout you weld onto your exhaust.
