Apexi intake filter. DTM tune. +36 whp, Mustang Dyno
if you read the title, then you know the facts. lower hp/tq curve is from DTM's dyno day back in september of 07 when nick retuned the car for the first time. the higher curve is from tonight's retune. the only mechanical difference is an apexi intake filter. as far as tuning is concerned, i will defer to nick.
car's configuration, in chronological order, max/ avg hp on DTM's mustang dyno -
sep '07 - perrin DP, HFC, perrin cat back, DTM tune, 295/ 217
apr '08 - apexi intake filter, perrin DP, HFC, perrin cat back, DTM tune, 332/ 252
so i figured the filter with a retune might be worth 5 whp on DTM's mustang dyno. tops. so to gain 36whp peak, 36whp average, and ~30 wheel torque (minimum) at all tested RPM probably has more to say about nick's tuning and the DTM crew's work because as good as filter X may be, there's no way a filter alone is worth 30+ whp on what is a largely stock motor.
again, the mods on this '06 MR are minimal:
apexi filter, perrin DP+HFC+CBE. on 93 gas that i buy at the PX on fort belvoir. not even a walbro fuel pump.
and if you set the way back machine to '07, here's the original tune: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=267392

Glad you're happy Ken! I do think you meant Sept was the first time you were tuned though right?
Hope you make the track tomorrow, well today really but who's watching the clock? Let us know how the twisties were in the rain.
I gotta say though, I think those numbers were mostly all Nick and his continually adapting, advancing and innovating tuning. Me running the dyno itself doesn't add much. lol
