RS specific thread

I've been searching and can't seem to find an RS specific thread. I've had my 06 IX RS for almost a year now and I have some questions I haven't found answers to. Maybe others can to this thread with other RS discussion.

1. How rare are these? I've stumbled upon a few posts that say there were only 300 and others say 500. I cannot find any actual production numbers with any supporting evidence.

2. The lack of ABS. What brake pads would you recommend for the RS? I know certain brake pads would be better for AutoX/HPDEs since the RS doesn't have ABS.

3. What do they actually weigh? Everything I've found seems to really vary. I was the 2nd owner of my car, but the previous owner told me he found a certificate inside the car that said it weighed 3150 lbs. Unfortunately he misplaced it. Any truth to this?

Thanks,
Todd

My car with a half tank of fuel = 3060lbs w/o me on a corner-balance scale.

Mini-battery/TBE/Robi KW's + catalog of parts.

359 total IX in North America, assuming half/half red/white.

Thanks for the quick reply. Wow...that's light! Can you tell me where you got the production numbers?

Another WW IX RS owner here.

I had no idea the IX RS was so rare, 359 is much lower than I thought.

Regarding the 3060lbs actual weight, was that without spare/tire tools and trunk floor? Anything else taken out like floor mates?

yeah that IS light. I thought the GSR's were 3274lbs so ur talking 200lbs diff from the RS to the GSR?? Im sure you have done some weight reduction right?

Partially this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&highlight=358

My car (showroom floor) + mini-battery + half tank of fuel + KW/suspension bits + MR wheels/advans LESS SPARE/TOOLS/JACK/WATER FLUID.

ps. 358 :P. So roughly 179 in each color.

Damn only 300+ No wonder they couldn't find me one when I was shopping around. I originally wanted the WW IX RS but I am very happy with my SE and wouldn't trade it up. I do love the RS though and 200+ lbs lighter means .2 in the quarter to me Keep ahold of these, they will be sought after one day.

I still can't find anything official from Mitsu on production numbers. I've been doing search after search without any luck.
