lol yaaa . As far as cars that compare at cost depends whether its stock!, because of the fact an 8k$ civic with 20k worth of mods can compare . So if your talking about stock wise than many of them are already listed.

I guess so, the C5 vette? ok... I suppose if both cars are stock. I don't know how the C5 responds to mods, but I know it doesn't take many for an Evo to be faster

I drove many different performance cars before the Evo, but the Evo had the "feel" I wanted. I couldn't find a single thing that was close and the price was just a bonus. If I had to ever replace my Evo...

I really like small cars. But I have an exception... Our family used to have a factory, unmodded beast: Chrysler 300C SRT-8. We thought about S/Cing her, but we sold it for something more practical. It was pretty quick from a roll, and had a very high top speed (~180 MPH), but it didn't handle as well as an Evo. Too long and too heavy (4100+ lbs).

C5 vette with a cam, exh, int, and a tune will smoke an evo all day that doesnt have a turbo swap.
135i, is a joke. NO LSD! on rwd car. GTFO.
You can pick up a ton of cars for under 10k, put 10k worth of suspension and power, and your right there with an evo. Just not very practical.
The evo is absolutley the king of its domain.
Also, the 2008 cobalt SS, is now turbo producing 260hp, with a LSD stock. It handles beter than previous models due to revised damping and the ecotec motor responds well to mods. The car can be had for 25k.

Depends on the year STi, single scroll turbo FTL prior to 2006 their power band wasn't all that great and even with the extra .5 liters of displacement it didn't help much.
The deal is when buying a car you have to factor in a lot of things. I say this to many people... there's not another car in the world I would rather have, including exotics (call me what you will). The reason being I can keep up with a ferrari in a 1/4 mile and a lotus exige on a track but also put my kids in the back on the weekend and go to chucky cheeses. When you factor in it's a 4 door, has a GREAT aftermarket scene, AWD, handles amazingly and reliable it makes it a hard car to beat ESPECIALLY for the price.
If I were to buy another car in the pricerange of this one, without factoring anything other than performance. C5 Z06 hands down, I was looking into them when I bought my Evo IX but decided that the Evo was the more logical choice for me. I've owned a lot of Subaru's, driven a few STi's and I'm still in love with my Evo.
