Tech/Ethics question for the GURUs

So I buy a set of injectors from one of the members on this forum ( who will remain unnamed for now.) I wanted to upgrade to a set of injectors that will fuel the full potential of my goals for this car when I first bought it. After speaking with some long-term veterans I decided to go with 1000cc injectors for my 500awhp needs.

So just like many other guys do, I browse the EvolutionM forums for a good deal on a set. I find a set being adverstised as 'NEW' along with a few other goodies and decide to purchase. I used paypal and did get my goods on time as agreed.

Here's where it gets twisted. The injectors are new, but they don't fit into the manifold. They are in fact not the correct injectors for this vehicle.

So before I lose my head, i do a little search first,,,,

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...+injectors+fit

Two members on this thread confirm my situation.

As shown below,, (flared dsm type)

And taken from another post on the forums, the correct injectors,,,

So now that some of the facts are out of the way, you gentlemen should also know that I contacted the seller about this. His response was......

"I dont understand how the injectors dont fit, I test fit one on my car, with the stock rail/intake/0-rings from stock injector and they fit right in. What doesnt fit about them ?"

Total bs of course. At first I thought the guy made an honest mistake and just sold me injectors that he planned to use, but just never got around to it and /or decided to go another route. This response lets me know as a veteran consumer that someone is trying to take me for a ride.

Now I posted this thread publically to ask the gurus if I'm dead wrong or in the right about this matter. I figured maybe no one's perfect and maybe I dropped the ball? These injectors do not fit into the intake manifoled. The flared ends prevent the injector from seating properly.

My question is simple. How long should it take this seller to resolve this issue? How long should someone wait before getting moderators/paypal/visa involved?

Thanks.

The guy should take care of it immediately, if he doesn't then you should inform a moderator and start the process of using paypal to make the situation right. It's not your problem to deal with, its the sellers.

Thank you for your comments gentlemen. I thought the same. One phone call would sure make things easy, but of course now I'm being told that the "cellphone is a total loss,,,,, just pm me"

Update;;

Since I've started this thread, now the response is "I'll pay you back $100".... Mind you, I was quoted and paid $200 for the injectors included in shipping of my total package weighing over 50lbs.

I'm content in keeping this issue public, and as per your advice i will give this person another 24hrs to rectify this crazy situation.

Also, does shaving these flares off of the injectors work? Remember that we are talking FUEL here. The thought of modifying something like this kind of gets past my compfort zone. Also makes me wonder if the impedences are correct etc,etc...

You paid for something you should have received and should have received the right part. That's not a part that I would go modifying and hoping it works right afterwards. Get a refund, get the right parts.

Did you pay for flared injectors or straight injectors. Get what you paid for.

eeek, that sucks. and those are most definitely for a dis-im.

you should take that 100 dollars as offered, then put them on a dsm forum such as: dsmtalk, dsmtuners.com , dsmforum.org or dsmiliveinmymomsbasement.net (jk)

sell them for 200 and take the extra 100 bucks for your troubles.....

or try and pursue a full return if reselling them does not appeal to you.

The $100 includes sending the injectors back. That would not be an option for me.
