Emission

Hi guys! I just want to know if you have passed the emission test on your Evo's.

I mean putting aftermarket parts would affect your emission result.

Does anyone has a problem with this before?

You have to be way more specific. Do you have a check engine light? If not, you should be alright. If you do there may be a solution.

Alot of parts can affect the results. Luckily im in a state that does not do emission testing.

No, I dont have a check engine light. I'm just worried coz a friend of mine just told me if you got no more cat and stock ecu then there's no way you can pass emission.

u have to have a cat on stock ecu. cause they hook a computer up to your obdII port.

if you dont have stock ecu then they cant talk to it so then you get a fail. same goes for cat its a federal thing.

Does your state plug a hose into your exhaust pipe for emissions testing for obd2 cars?

With obd2 emmisions testing the car should pass as long as the check engine light is off. If you don't have a catalytic converter, you will very likely get a cat fault. This can be easily fixed using a spark plug non-fouler (hint, hint search). That should be the only emmissions issue that you should ever have to deal with.

Thats is not true. Some states use the sniffer for OBD2 cars in addition to the OBD2 port.

dont even dare to try to pass emissions without a cat, with or without a cel fix. Why well because its a EPA law and you will get a very hefty $2500 fine.
always have a cat installed, just take it off afterwards.
