I've been pretty happy going to America's tire - they've always taken good core of the rims when replacing em.

Thankyou for the replies

Thank you for the advice everyone. That helped me out a lot. I will definitely demand new rims and tires, what ever it takes.

+1 on new rims and tires. I really don't see why they had to heat up your tires? I work at Costco in the tire center, and have never scratched a rim or had a problem mounting a low profile tire. Infact, I mounted my own Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires with NO problem. I guess the tech was too lazy to pull out the plastic (or rubber) pieces that go over the clamps. Good luck in your situation and I hope they replace your wheels AND tires at their expense.

Yeah, I would be fuming. Especially because they didnt say anything and were just hoping you wouldnt notice. You cant let them get away with that.

I had an unfortunate incident when Discount Tire mounted new tires on my rims.

They admitted to the mistake and paid for replacement rims. Four new rims in my case since my old rims are no longer available. ++1 for Discount tire .

Tell the dealership that you discussed this problem with other professionals within their industry, and the general consensus is it that they should replace your rims and tires at no cost to you.

Be firm... good luck

I think the design of the nut has issue, it doesn't slip easily into the hole and sometimes clip on the side.

My driver side rear rim was mounted incorrectly when I took it in for preparing a hole on the tire. It slipped into correct position when I was accelerating getting into the freeway. It became totally loose and the whole car shake like it's breaking off. Luckily nothing happen.
