Will an X knob fit on an Evo 8?

Need a new shift knob, and the 5 speed X knob looks good:

He is claiming that it will fit an 8, but I figured that I would ask the experts first.

What a waste of money. $80 plus shipping just for a shift knob is just way too expensive.

80 dollars is pretty bad for a crappy Mitsu knob considering you can get a Greddy counterweight for about $50.

Get the ARC TI Ver.2, Its the best shift knob I have ever felt! the downsides are: its pretty expensive and the blue on the top starts to fade.
