If you look at the FQ-400 specs, you can see what brands are being used to turn an Evo into an FQ. I believe there are HKS parts, so you are paying some $ for name branding.

I'm going to throw a rough number of $10,000.

I guess if you can make an integra GSR turn into a Type R than it is possible. The car will not be a true FQ400, but can have the specs close to it.

Probably cost effective, the FQ400 is around 45,000 pounds, which is around like 87,000 in USD. I'm pretty sure for that extra 50k you can make an evo a FQ-400 "equivalent".

I dont know to much about the FQ's but all it really is an evo with 400 crank hp, right? If it is you can reach that number cheaper with aftermarket parts.

Plus a few cosmetic differences, essentially yes.

So yeah basically upgraded engine, with some custom and name brand parts. Some cosmetic changes (biggest note would be the Ralliart mirrors), and driver training. Definatly could do similar for a lot less.

(Which one of the reasons Clarkson actually said get the 360 since it was loads cheaper than the 400 at £35,539 ($66,700) ).

Edit: actually the biggest reason for the buck increase is full warranty I believe. yes you could mod an Evo to that but you're on your own at most dealerships if something goes wrong. Though for the savings you could buy another one incase you mess up the first one. lol. Also don't forget England has rediculous taxes on cars, I think the standard evo is around 50k there.

You can buy 2 evos and have mod $ for 1 FQ...

Yea just think of how much AMS sold their time attack car for....just about the same price as a FQ400 and the AMS car is pushing 750 crank hp....and would wax most of anything around a circuit.

I gues the FQ only gives you factory warranty with the increased HP levels...Which is probably worthless in the US =D

Oh yea and you get that bright shiny "FQ" badge...Win!?!? Haha
