Fake or Real Carbon Fiber??

How can one tell between a Do-luck Carbon fiber lip and a Do-luck Style Carbon Fiber lip? or a kansai and a kansai styles? so how can you tell whether its a knock off or not?

i look for the little fibers in the carbon...if you can see the extremely little fibers then its real..use a magnifying glass to make it easier...if you look at the dash on the ix youll notice it has no serrations in it but when you look at the wing you see a difference.....hope this helps..

I think you might be getting the names mixed up. I'm not too familiar with any of these lips, but I can tell you that the difference is probably that one is a replica off the real one and the other IS the real one. IE: Do-Luck Lip = real, while the Do-Luck "style" = replica.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

ok..... here are a few tips to help you......

1. if it says "style" then its a generic knock-off.. but it doesnt always mean its crap, nor its fake carbon.... just that it was made by chinese instead of japanese (dont take that too seriously)

2. when looking for carbon fiber parts... if it says carbon fiber "look" or something of the sort, its a printed on design.... look for 100% real carbon fiber comments on their description...

i have yet to see a fake carbon fiber lip yet... so i think your good to go on that... but as for parts like the ralliart "carbon fiber" shifter surround... its fake

How about a fake Carbon fiber splitter from APR.? When I picked mine up I was like WTF this thing is heavy. I turn it over to see that it is fiberglass with a CF overlay on top. Feel like I was ripped on that one!
