HOw to tap power from fusebox
Hey guys, I am trying to install my boost gauge and I need 12v source to light my gauges up. I heard people have used the fusebox to get that source. My question is, what kind of connector do I need to crimp onto the wire to tap onto the fuse. I believe its the fuse for the interior instrument gauges.
Thanks advance!!

unless you want your backlight on all the time, you should find a switched power source that activates when the headlights are on. Either the fuse box or the ECU will have this.

Hey guys,
I tapped a line in the fusebox under the steering wheel. You should get the fuse thingies from radioshack to do it right, but what I did was strip some wire, wrap it around the fuse, and put the fuse back in. You wrap enough around the fuse so it wedges itself in there, but I was careful so it doesn't have bare wire moving around, in case it shorts or something.
You can use the gauge cluster or something similar so the gauge lights up when your lights are on.
Good luck,

Walmart sells a 3m connector (tap) which is ideal for this application. The tap presents a spade lug connection for the attaching wire.

I went to 3 different radio shacks and they didn't have mini-fuse taps available, just the regular sized ones. You need something like this:

Its gonna be a tight fit, you have to use force to plug it in.
