I took this pic when I was headed to the track....I had 5 gal of race gas with me so I did a little test to see how far I could go....I thought I was going to run out of gas before I got to the track. Anyway I hit the "reset" on the miles when the needle was right on the "E" mark...the car made it 33 miles all the way to the track...needle goes well below "E".

 

Interesting, I don't think I have let mine get that low yet.

Good to know though. The farthest I have gone is with about a gallon left. Guess I'm not adventurous enough.

 

i just had my needle that low about 4 hours ago. i'm always scared whenever the needle goes under "E", but i know i can go at least another 25 miles.

I didn't realize that I was low on gas (1/4 tank or so)when I went out for a session at Barber last weekend. When I got off the track my needle was under the E & the light was on. I couldn't believe that I had gotten that low on a track without the car acting up a little. On a side note my first time ever on a track I ran out of gas on the track in my MINI. I thought something broke cause the car just died mid corner. I was able to restart it & get to the pits driving easy. Talk about embarassing.
