Some weird problems with my evo need serious help!

Well my car was running fine today and then all of a sudden after i shut it off it wouldnt start again....

There are several weird things going on, when i turn the key nuthing happens...all the dash lights and the clock light up but nuthing when i turn the key. The only thing i hear is the fuel pump. Also when i turned on the lights the only lights that didnt work were the 2 side lights on the fenders and the one driver side headlight....WTF.

Problem number 2:

After i got the car started by pop starting it while driving in EVERY gear when boost reached 0psi or around 3000rpm the car would stutter real bad, the motor would shake and make a fast duhd.duhd.duhd sound. In order to get out of this i would have to let off the gas then press it again but then after a few seconds it would happen again. Something isnt right

please help!

+1. Already been through that. I had to replace the entire engine hardness because water got on the connectors. First my car wouldnt start, then it did. But my lights wouldnt turn off and niether would my wipers. Check the pannel next to your left foot on the drivers side and look to see if the connectors are corroded. If they are, then that might be part of the problem, and if so, let me know becuase I have an extra harness laying around.

had the same symptoms happen to me about 3 months ago.
side marker lights were turning on, blinkers stuck on, wipers magically turning on, car not wanting to start etc...

check the rubber grommet with the main wiring harness in the drivers fenderwell that goes into the feet area above the fuse box. mine was hanging out and water was just dripping down there from the stupid drain Mitsubishi put above wiring loom.

I took out the connector and hard wired all the wires that were corroded.
Have Fun!!

Your light problem definately points to the harness. No need to replace the harness just hard solder the wires and be done

exactly what happened to my car.
I would check the white plug connectors in the drivers side foot area just to the left of the dead pedal.

Thanks guys for your help....so this is what was wrong..

The pigtail came undone on the starter(starting problem)

AND

took the fender liner off, followed all the wires going from the kickpanel area to under the hood and found the bolt that GROUNDS the lights and wiring harness was unbolted and on its last couple of threads.

Tell me how these 2 things happen in the same day at the same time? lol

So to anyone with the similar problem check this ground!!
