I run Defi Blue Racer Oil Pressure, EGT and Boost. I don't have any problems with them at all. (Plus they look great.)
And just to clarify, Defi Blue Racer Gauges do not require a control box. They are standalone.
Only little tweak I would've wanted is for my boost gauge to go over 40. =X (Only goes to 30)

They also offer widebands, oil pressure, etc...
The above link has the boost gauge and it reads up to 50 psi. The gauge was tested to be spot on from last I remember at srtforums (previous car). I'm running this gauge right now in my evo and it works great and easy to read.

Autometer QC has been a little iffy in the past. I know because I've gone through and checked about 300 AM gauges in the last 5 years. I've had quite a few temp gauges that were as much as 60degrees off.
I don't have any first hand experience with Defi because they aren't legal in the series I work in.
Stewart Warner is OK but, about on par with AM.
Spa is good quality but, they are ugly.
We are currently running Spek gauges and I will say they seem to be quite accurate and the guy that owns the company is very hands on. When there has been problems he is on top of it.
Stack is good but, where recently acquired by harbour group who owns Autometer so...
I also like the Racepak gauges personally. The Canbus and data acquisition integration option is nice. They might not have all the bells and whistles of a Defi BF gauge but, they are real race car pieces built to take abuse and have nice digital display along with the analog needle.

I have the AEM truboost (un-married) and AEM Uego and they are decent gauges / devices.
Pros
Affordable
Standard size
Nice appearance which can be changed (black / silver bezels, faces)
Truboost has peakhold which is a nice feature on a boost gauge.
Both are easy to read day or night
Truboost is actually a boost controller / gauge combo.
Solenoid can be controlled by the Device or OEM ECU (requires inline resistor).
AEM Uego is easy to install, easy to use, self calibration, accurate (checked against PLX and Innovate)
Uego is compatible with EvoScan
Uego starts reading immediatly, no 30 second warmup like innovate.
Cons
One gauge is brighter than the other
Boost solenoid is noisy if hard mounted
crappy manual
Mine doesnt have the - sign for vacuum (newer ones should)
Uego - For logging you have to make your own cable (cost $2.50)
Uego -serial output instead of USB (requires USB -> serial converter)
