Easiest 30+ lbs weight saving

Just got my Voltphreaks light weight racing battery. It's $500 for the sucka . It weights in at a little bit more than 4 lbs (unreal how light it is). The stock battery is right @ 35 lbs. As of right now, I have the Voltphreak battery zip tie to the stock battery tray. To my suprise, as soon as I hook it up, I can start the car right up. I've been running it for a couple days and I can't even tell the different. My audio, lights, and AC work normal. Oh yeah, take about 20 min to do the swap.

After doing the AMS mustache eleminate and BR side diff support (a total weight saving of 18lbs, cost about $600, and about 5 hours of labor), this mod is well worth it in my book. Still, I still can't believe I paid $500 for a freaking battery!!

Eleven pounds, I believe for the Odyssey mini battery --- you can get it for around 150?

If I'm right, that extra 6 pounds just cost you TREE-FIDDY.

The only problem with any of these is starting your car in the snow belt . You can take it out for winter if you want, but then you need to change short route IC piping if you got it and maintain the batteries on a tender over the winter.

LOL, this thread is to funny, come on $$$$ to save 30 lbs???????
maybe that gives ya 0.1 second of your 1/4 mile time, but hey $500 you could have bought a LICP and drop 2psi pressure differential and got 0.2 seconds off your 1/4 time,
i say bad investment man, sorry but dont think its worth it at all.

$500 buys you a meth injection kit but that's not weight savings so I'm OT sorry.

I don't agree, weight savings is one of the smartest things you can do. The car breaks less, go quicker/faster, stops faster, wears out tires less, gets better fuel mileage, handles better.

Spending $500 for a battery..............I did the same thing, it's new on my desk. I don't think I will ever use it. Our battery kit takes 20 pounds off, will start in the winter and is under $300.

This battery is slick though and light as hell. I just don't know if it will even work at all in cold weather.
