I had done some looking and www.1stradardetectors.com rated the Bel STi Driver as the best anyone know anything about this one or is it an automatic No-Go since it has STI in the title? lol

the V1 is even better than the passport.. so you should get the idea..
the x80? I think you mean the x50 and I would definitely choose the Valentine over the Bel Sti. I don't think I have ever heard a bad thing about the V1 other than price, but you always get what you pay for, and with the V1 you are not getting a second rate detector.. and you can always upgrade it when new bands and speed trapping devices come out http://www.valentine1.com/upgrades/

I don't trust most of those sites that rank and sell the product at the same time. They usually have some profit incentive set up to sell one more than another.

Either way, V1 is the way to go. I've never heard of one person not happy with their V1. I think the directional arrows display alone makes the V1 so much better. Plus, it's upgradable!

I do not own one personally but when i drove my car from MI, to TX for the Supra meet, we borrowed a friend of mine. It saved my butt a few times on the highway.. it does seem to go off A LOT though.. but i could handle the noise over a speeding ticket! =)

Couldn't agree more with that last sentence...I've seen a few CHP cars around here just cruise without radar. Fortunately most do though...thank God and my V1, I usually hear them coming about a mile away.

I have had a V1 for 3 years and it has pade for itself at least 5 times over. This is not to say I haven't been pulled over (that damn instant on is tough at close range).

Considering most cops these days prefer to run laser (at least when stationary) the usefulness of any radar detector is limited.
That being said, I love my V1 and hate driving rental cars etc, without it. You still have to be vigilant and keep an eye out for cops, cause not all of them have radar or have it on. And if they are running a laser trap you got to watch for them by the other cars up front slowing down.
Stay alert and its a great tool to help you avoid a ticket.

Good thing I got a warning for it I hid mine high and close to the visor so that i can push the visor up when necessary so cops wouldn't see if they peek inside. Here's two pic if you guys wanna see.

Let us know how well it performs once installed and used.

nice man..thats the most effective spot to put it too the higher the better
