I had done some looking and www.1stradardetectors.com rated the Bel STi Driver as the best anyone know anything about this one or is it an automatic No-Go since it has STI in the title? lol

Either way, V1 is the way to go. I've never heard of one person not happy with their V1. I think the directional arrows display alone makes the V1 so much better. Plus, it's upgradable!

I do not own one personally but when i drove my car from MI, to TX for the Supra meet, we borrowed a friend of mine. It saved my butt a few times on the highway.. it does seem to go off A LOT though.. but i could handle the noise over a speeding ticket! =)

The newest version of the V1 (1.8) will detect all the bands (K, Ka, X, Laser, and Pop-Mode), but like any detector, this is not a free ticket to speed.. you still need to drive 'smart'..

Nothing beats a Valentine One in radar and laser detection.

Considering most cops these days prefer to run laser (at least when stationary) the usefulness of any radar detector is limited.
That being said, I love my V1 and hate driving rental cars etc, without it. You still have to be vigilant and keep an eye out for cops, cause not all of them have radar or have it on. And if they are running a laser trap you got to watch for them by the other cars up front slowing down.
Stay alert and its a great tool to help you avoid a ticket.

Sad to hear that man... there's always some lowlife people out there I have a Cobra XRS and it's always been good for me so far. Like 90GSX-03EVO said, I got pulled over once with my Cobra detector because it was off I hardwired the cig lighter #2 right below my knee and must have kicked it when I got in. Good thing I got a warning for it I hid mine high and close to the visor so that i can push the visor up when necessary so cops wouldn't see if they peek inside. Here's two pic if you guys wanna see.
Let us know how well it performs once installed and used.
