Bad idle help? (vid inside)
Ive been dealing with this for about 3 weeks. It was real bad at one time, would barely stay idling, and kept stalling. but now it just idles real funny..like a harley or like i have big cams. some times it smoothes out and then does it..like in the vid. But WOT its fine.
so far ive done:
plugs
wires
reset ecu
compression check
cleaned MAF
checked for vac leaks
symptoms:
bad idle
pig rich from a dead stop (idle to 2k rpms)
also ive got 2 Po300 codes in the last 2 weeks

i had the same problem..........
pull your map and add a few degrees of timing during idle.....for me it made things alot smoother without throwing misfire codes....try it and see what happens...you can always change it if it doesent work.......
also try adjusting your ISCV stepper tables.......the higher the value the leaner she gets......just mess with the values from 50-82 celsius....
i can almost gaurantee when you add some timing for idle you will be great......

one of the many things i narrowed it down too, how would you check for that? look for a wet plug? Or would that just indicate a faulty spark?
Let me know how to check that too, when it goes up does it vac leak in some way? or does it just crap out and not work right?

As of right now its loping all the time, idling like cammed out big block. Its hit or miss. some days it smoothes out then lopes, others it lobes continuously.
The wierd thing is ive been on the same tune for 6 months would it of changed?. I did data log it at idle, i wasnt real sure what i should be looking at that would make it lope, but if i remember right it, the timing was 5 to 7 i believe. sound too low?

5-7 is about normal for stock IX's. mine is at 9-11.....if it was at 5-7 she would idle rich as heck and sound lopey. just try it out and see what happens.
and do you have a fuel pressure regulator??

The only thing ive done since the tune, is a timing belt and that was at least 1000miles ago ran fine up to 3 weeks ago.
the car was tuned for 29psi with c-16, when im not running c-16 i run shell or sunoco 93 and i either not boost it at all (drive like a gran ma) or i turn the boost down to 15psi and open it up, just so my waste gate wont sease shut.
If this is a timing problem, ill wait a couple weeks. getting it tuned in nj with double pump 30-35 psi, and getting a 20-21psi pump gas tune. Im not comfortable messing with the parameters yet, still learning it.
