i bought them from lancershop (artic white fogs) and they stated that they were 85watts "witch is still a little high" but when they came i seen that there 100watts i really dont know if the watts are to high came someone help me here

I have the PIAA extreme arctic white fogs,[also from lancershop] and mine are "equal" to 110 watts, and mine have been fine for 2 years now..

I would just keep an eye on the harness and the headlight lens and make sure they aren't hot enough to melt anything..

I had 100w bulbs in my SRT-4 and it melted the connector on my multifunction switch. The voltage was just too high.

It may be fine now, but after time it will melt your sh*t.

^^ thats what im thinking i dont know what to do i've been checking them i dont see melting but they are f**king HOT much hotter then the headlights!!.........sick9 do you always put your fogs on with your headlights?? thanks guys for the help

I sell bulbs at my store and dont get confused with' rated as', and what they 'actually are'. PIAA are rated as and output 100W+ but at about 60W so they are fine. True 100W+ bulbs will generate alot more heat and will eventually almost certainly cause a problem and not one you can check beforehand. It could burn out the harness or worse in a matter of seconds.

Anyway the workaround is to usually put in a relay.

I'm running the yellow nokya fogs right now and I believe the package said they were 80w not sure but should I be worried about it melting the housing in the long run? When they are on they get hot just like the headlights.

80W would normally be the max I tell a customer to run but I would still check them regularly to be on the safe side.

Just found this on an alternate site using the same part # from lancershop.

Part # nok7218 Product Notes:
1.) These bulbs are designed for maximum light output, therefore these bulbs may be higher wattage than your O.E. bulb.
Please make the necessary wiring upgrades before fitting these bulbs.


I would probably not run these particular bulbs with out a wiring upgrade..
On a side note the PIAA's are great. twice as much $ but same color.. Work for me

if you don't want to worry about melting, try 3000K HID lights. Rated at 35watts, and 3 times brighter. They're really bright yellow. I got mine from ebay for like $65 shipped. This is cheaper or at price for PIIA bulbs.

YES.
I would not run those bulbs.
true 100w bulbs will probably melt it and the headlight housing.
Find some diff. bulbs that are lower wattage but same color.

i would keep an eye on them, i had a buddy of mine put a higher bulb in and melted the lens from the inside. Just be careful

I'm running the same fog lights also from lancershop for almost a year now. I've used them a lot and haven't had any issues. Don't expect a blue hue to come from these though, they ARE whiter than the stock fogs but compared to the HIDs they do look a little bit yellower (see pic). In hindsight i probably should have waited and done an HID fog upgrade.
