Should I be concerned?

Monday I went to my local mitsu dealer to have my oil changed and get everything checked out. I play football in college so I don't have time do all the check ups myself. Here is what I found out...At 24,375 miles I needed a new front left strut, my rear brake pads were almost down to metal, my air box was broken in half...yes broken in half. The dude comes in there where I'm talking with the service manager and says "uhh here's this thing"...WTF!!!!!!! How the F does your air box break?? I'll post pics when I get out of class. Anyways, on top of all that, I've already had to have my clutch replaced at 3,xxx miles and I can't get my 5th gear grind fixed because "I don't have a catalytic converter", quote from the parts manager......

UPDATE: today the service manager called me about the price of new break pads and told me $275 dollars for the rear set. I told him I would just buy some hawk pads and he said "that will definantly void any kind of warranty you have left"!!!!!

update: Pics of the air box, sorry for the bad quality iPhone pics

The "uhh here's this thing"

If you replaced the clutch at 3k you must be the original owner, yes?

If that is and no accidents have occured I have no clue how that happens? Extreme temperatures? IDK. I would go to another dealership and see if they will turn their heads to your exhaust... otherwise convert back to stock to get the transmission fixed I would say. Airbox is wierd but if thats the case, get a new intake; oem off the boards here, or aftermarket. Goodluck.

why would it matter if your exhaust is modded? the only part of your warranty that can be legally voided is the o2 sensors, stock cat, stock muffler and any exhaust emision related components (such as a charcoal canister or EGR related stuff) back in the glory days when i still had a warranty and our economy was just starting to go to sh%t i was able to have my T case replaced under warranty and i had a substantial amount of bolt ons and a twin disk.

it basically all comes down to what dealer you go to. some are cool some are ****'s. and you cant be a dick to the service manager but you cant let him think for a second that he knows more about your car than you do. or let him think that you wont argue/protest any nonsense he says. such as "well, your cat-less exhaust made your 5th gear grind." uh, Bull Shiiiiiii t

sounds like you may still be in high school, why dont you have your dad go to the dealer with you and play the iron fist and you can be the velvet glove.

Exactly what this guy said...Catless affecting 5th gear? That's some straight bs. Either go with your parents or get angry and say fix it now. Ask him how being catless affects your 5th gear synchro...

Well all us skilled mechanics know how test pipes destroy Evo 5th gears.

Take it somewhere else. That doesn't seem right at all.

No, I'm going to be a junior in college. My parents live 3 and half hours away.

That cover is not exactly EASY to get off, someone probably broke it off trying to change the air filter.

Stealerships are that for a reason, do your own work bro...

How the hell are brake pads going to void your warranty?

"Yes Mr. Service Advisor. These hawk pads add 1000hp to the WHEELS! Please void my warranty as it causes excessive wear on the car that Mitsubishi didn't design the car to handle"
