85$ towing lesson
SO the story goes I am leaving class about 2 hours ago, pulling onto the highway and decide to get on it. In 3rd gear I loose all power through the pedal, car is still running but something has gone wrong. No sound when it happened either, like somethign blew. Pull off to the side and car dies. Crank it back up and car runs very rough when i try to barely accelerate it dies again. Lots of black smoke coming from the exhaust, so i am thinking something has gone seriously wrong with my fuel somewhere. I call a tow truck, load it up and bring it to my house and say, "hey, let me pull off the front bumper so i dont scratch the lip. LOL, found waldo! ****ing lower intercooler pipe blew off. Well there goes a waste of money and a lesson well learned all night + =

Ya, well i'm not used to them yet, apparently i got drunk the other sunday cause it was my first day off in ooo 2 weeks, i ordered the entire fujita setup. Installing it i had to use the same couplers on the intercooler so they are on the weak side. And thats where it blew off.

i read about this happening so much to even stock evos, that when it happened to me, i knew what it was immediately. had a technician from work grab a hose clamp, and away i went. luckily my charge piping popped off right at the throttle body - so it was pretty easy to fix.
Time for some T-Bolt clamps.

That's the one and only non-stock thing on my Evo (well, and a CG-Lock). First thing I did after I picked up the car. =D
I also managed to fail at tightening the clamp on the throttle body, so I already know exactly what the car feels like when you blow a hose off and it falls on it's face.

I had that happen on my '97 GS-T with 20G. It scared the **** out of me and was a bit embarrassing since I was giving a buddy a ride to check out the new turbo setup. Anyways, it was visible as soon as I opened the hood, so I knew what had happened.
