Leave Mods On If Bringing In For Recall Work?

I got my recall notice yesterday. I was wondering if any of you out there with mods such as test pipe, AFC, etc that have brought your car in for the recall left them on the car or did you guys remove them before bringing it in?

I would .... chances are, they won't bother looking very hard unless the car is going in for warranty work that could be the result of modding.

Well by looking at your sig, the only thing I would remove is the straight pipe. Because it's not only a mod but is also illegal. But I wouldn't worry about anything else.

For this recall I'm just going to leave everything on.

Too many mods - besides I didn't keep my stock parts when I moved cross-country.

It all depends on the dealership. The owner of mine races an Evo so he loves when I get something and asks me to bring it in just to check out my aftermarket stuff. For this leak thing I wouldn't worry about it. Unless for some reason you have wiring where they are going to be working. The test pipe should go just beacuse it's illegal and they might have some issues with it. Maybe they should recall the clutch while they're at it.

I wouldn't worry about it. The problem is from the factory not anything anyone added to the car.

One thing you can do is call the service manager before bringing it in and just ask what will be involved in the recall work, and/or their attitude regarding mods. My guess is that you will get a pretty good idea from that conversation whether you have anything to worry about.
