my friend threw the cam and crank sensor codes on his 8. we cleared them adn they havn't come back. its been months. we read online that if you remove the inner vent piece on the hood that water puddles up on the sensor and causes it to cause missreading until it dries up.

Ok I did a little searching and found couple crankwalk threads from like ever ago!! They say evos don't have it, which is good lol. My question is would excessive racing or so to speak banging gears cause this? Well Im sure Im not the only one on here to do it but I like to get "On it" once in a while and now I am stuck with a blown crankshaft sensor a, as mention in my other thread. And well I just thought maybe I "crankwalked" my car......am I nuts? please tell me Im Nuts!!!

Ok update:
I got the power steering pump and its components out. I also got the power steering pump bracket out and the pully on it. Where I am stuck is when I ask where the sensor is everyone says its behind the cover.....LMAO!! Ok how do you get the cover off lol.......I searching now on my manual on this. I assume this is called timing belt cover? I can't seem to find the bolts holding this cover on.. I found like 3-5 of them but its still mounted pretty good......

I will say that when i unplugged the connector for it that it was saturated in oils and also when i follow the connector wire all the way down until I lose site of it that I find a lot of gunk/oils/ and grime!!

ok I found the timing cover removal under the timing belt removal and installation section on my manual... However is looks like I will have to remove more pulleys the water pump pully and the auto tentioner.. in order for this cover to come off........

Thats what i thought but when I spoke with people about this they acted like no biggy, just pull it off lol.....I think I am giong to pull the car to my house and go from there....I believe I have a bigger problem than we think..
when I pull the rim off and fender plastic I saw something WEIRD!!! Ill explain below:
It looked like someone toke an used oil gun and sprayed oil all over the crank side of the motor, inside my rim, and all over the plastics........hmmmmm I guess I will let someone else tackle this considering I have no idea whats wrong with it and I just don't have the time for it......and no garage...LOL.....CBRD Here I come HAHA

It sounds like "crankwalk" is a symptom, not a cause, in this case.

Main seal may be the culprit, but check all over and find exactly where the leak is coming from. Sounds like all that oil is toying with the sensor.
