Roush vs. Evo 8
Ok Im in the market, not buying yet, just getting some ideas. I really like the new Roush 427r mustang. However i really love the evo. I already have an 03 8 and I am getting rid of my Accord to make room for something a little more fun. The ford dealer in my location has a brand new 2008 Roush and CBRD has a 2004 Evo 8. The eight looks like it has been touched with swapped out rims, I believe interior aswell unless 2004 had a model that came with leather. The mustang has stock 420+ whp and the eight is not known since CBRD has gotten a hold of it. 24k for the eight 27k for the stang.
Any ideas or opinions? I am quite aware this is an Evo forum, but I have been on here long enough to learn that most of you drive other cars aswell.

You have to decide for yourself man. Something as simple as the sound of a fart popping coffee can exhaust chases some people away from the EVO.
The very best thing you can do is drive both the way you plan to drive them when you own the car.
I've been looking to sell my EVO because all my friends have gone out and purchased them. No longer special to me. I can't find another car (outside of the STI) that even comes close to the steering, braking, handling, and power (once modded).

I am a mustang hater for no reason other than i think they suck but i think for 27 k id have a supercharged s2000 if you don't want another evo. The only other car that can compete with the evo under 30,000 IMO is the s2000 supercharged lots of fun!!

As far as sub-40K sports cars (not "sporty" IE SRT Neon etc) I think the mustang is the LEAST desirable. When I was looking at this market my picks were STi/Evo, 350Z a close second, then S2000, then GTO. There is NO way I would go with a mustang. If you want the V8 toarks, go with a GTO, it is simply a much more competent car. The mustang has less than .9g's on the skidpad and a SOLID REAR AXLE. Guys we're not in the 60s anymore.

No well in hell your getting it for 27K.
The 427R is a minimum of 16,000 over the price of the Mustang. That's just for parts. Your compairing a used 04 Evo to a New Roush 427R. Roushes top level based of the stage 3. I am guessing around $50,000 for a loaded 427R. No way your getting a turn key Roush for the price of a Mustang GT.
I hate mustangs, but come on guys.

Yea that price seems way too low to me. I work next to a large Ford dealership and all the Roush stangs there are all at least 40k. I'd expect to pay around 27k for a regular GT.
That being said I'd say your best bet is just to see if you can test drive both cars, that is the only way you are going to know for sure.

Speed, feel free to stop in some time this week. I'd be happy to show you the Evo's that we have, but more importantly, see who we are and how we choose the Evo's that get our logo put on them.
Thanks!

I can assure whoever buys a car from CBRD that they are in good hands. CBRD would not label a car if it wasnt worthy. They are very particular with everything they do. I have seen the evo thats for sale there and its a really nice car and Im sure will make someone very happy.
