It just seems like all the writers talk up how great the STI is and how cheap the Evo seems. They do all this even though the Evo is outperforming the STI, but I think the drivability will play a big part of it. They all seem to think the STI is more mature.

 

Not at $5000-6000 more. They're not even the same class of car.

I believe they post the 10 Best in late spring. Somehow both the 350Z and G35 coupe made the list?? So hopefully one gets dropped. I'm guessing both the STI and EVO make the list, but those C&D people love luxury though.

 

My list of candidates are:

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
Mazda RX8
Infiniti G35
Chevrolet Corvette
Audi RS6
Chrysler Crossfire
Mini Cooper
Mazda 6
Ferrari Enzo
Lamborghini Gallardo

 

I don't think you will see a limited production car on the 10 best list. The only way the STI is on is if they combine it with the WRX. Evo has pretty much no shot.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the 10 best are broken down into categories. So for example there is no way that the RX8, Subaru WRX EVO and STI not to mentio the 540 or M3 will all be in there. There is a brest sedan, a best sports car, etc. since the EVO WRX and STI as well as the 540 and M5 have 4 doors and are classified as sedans, only 1 wil get in. of course another could win the sports car segment or even the grand touring segment, but these segments are usually filled with very high proced cars. don't forget the STI has no radio, and lists for over 30K, a magic number for a lot of writers.
