DIY Fiberglass lip

Not sure where to post this but for the past few days Ive played with the idea of creating my own fiberglass lip with a carbon fiber finish. It doesnt seem extremely hard just time consuming. Do you guys think Im crazy or should I go for it?

Ive done it with other cars, not my evo yet.

I used marine foam, carved it to how I wanted it, attached it to the car via tape and such, covered it in tinfoil and glassed over it. From there I added more layers to it, filler and such.

As you said, not very hard, but VERY time consuming

How were the results?

Also how is it as far as actually providing downforce? With the right material and shape would it give the same results as a professionally done cf lip

Is the work youre going to do worth it when you can score a cf lip almost anywhere these days for $300-$375?

How much for supplies?

Also how confident are you that it will come out satisfactory?

Personally Id just spend the money on one if I wanted it that bad.

Happy 4th of July

Supplies shouldnt cost over a 100.

Its not really so much I just want a lip. I want to try this out as a project and see how well it comes out. It seems kind of fun as well. Plus who knows the results might be awesome haha

just make sure you dont use to much fiber glass and end up with a lip that weighs as much as your bumper.
