Puzzling Issue for the Experts
#31
I'm not having the problem but I am interested in the solution. So if the car has to relearn idle, are you guys running your car for a few days with the AC on all the time and then letting it stall every time it wants to? Sorry I am a little confused.

yes thats exactly what I did to solve the problem. Instead of preparing for stops by turning off the a/c like normal, I just dealt with the stalling for a while. The rpms gradually dropped less and less until they started holding around 900 rpm's It actually went away alot quicker than I expected, rcheung said a few days but for me it took 1-2 hours.

every time you load a new ROM or reset the ecu it has to relearn and yes it's a bit painful for a bit but usually if the tune is solid and the engine is healthy (leak free, good compression) things will begin to fall into place.

UPDATE:
Issue resolved!!
With the valuable advice from this thread, mellon, and my tuner I fixed the problem today. Apparantly, the ecu requires insane time to relearn itself for the A/C issues and normal idle.
I let the car warm up 100% and clicked the A/C on. The car battled for idle forever but after a solid 10-15 minutes it relearned it completely.
TIP -
Upon starting the car to relearn idle conditions. Be sure to not touch the gas pedal. Whether your relearning regular idle or A/C idle just let it fight for it's life. If you keep a close eye on it, you can actually see the RPM gauge gathering a stronger idle over time.
By doing this, it doesn't take 3-4 days to relearn idle and you won't have to deal with stalling out at every stop sign or redlight.
I figured I'd post this up to thank everyone and hopefully help other people who use the search function in the future for similar issues.
Once again, thanks everyone.

I had this occur to me but only for 15 minutes after the fuel pump was installed. Car sat and sputtered and fought for it's life. It finally came up to normal idle.
Glad you sorted it out.
