in other words, shift at 2500 rpm. I regularly got 320 mpg by doing this while breaking in the engine when first got my evo.

What is going on with the logic, or lack there-of of posters nowadays....Driving economically in the winter will cause oversteer if it is snowing. I mean look, it happened to him and because of it he bent a wheel and wheel bearing, damn....

Im getting really good gas mileage now.. It seems like better then stock with cams injectors test pipe etc.. I really cant believe how its possible, but I commute 40 minutes to work and back everyday during the week and I only fill up once every 6 days-7 days

After we got flashed last weekend, we got 300 miles to the light coming on. That is almost all freeway miles. Best I have ever got. Running about 80mph the whole way.

I'm impressed with "320 mpg"! I assume you meant 320 miles per tank, which is still awesome at about 24-25 mpg depending on how close to empty you were. However, I don't see how you can shift at 2500 RPM. The engine (at least on my VIII) doesn't really like to be below 2000 RPM. When I'm really taking it easy, I'll shift at 3300-3500 and I get a very consistant 21-22 mpg -- around 260 miles between fill ups and a bit over 12 gallons put in the tank. I suppose you could cruise at 2500 RPM (although I'd need a 6th gear to handle that ) but shifting at 2500 would put you at about 1500 in the next gear.

yes, 320/tank...and it's pretty simple really to shift around 2500 rpm as long as you are doing it quickly. now, if you were cruising at 2500, then shifting, the engine will not like it.
