Drafting to save gas? WTF! How much money do you actually think you're saving by doing that? A couple pennies? Why don't you get a Hybrid of some sort if you need to pinch that many pennies. Good God! I'm lucky to get 15mpg.

[QUOTE=nj1266]Honestly, you must have tremendous self restraint to drive at 55-60 mph, but that is the speed that gets you the best gas mileage. In CA you will get the middle finger driving this slow even if you were driving in the slow lanes. /QUOTE]
Yeah, so? Who cares? Does that middle finger hurt when it is displayed?

I do care. Why the hell do I want to subject myself to such profanity when all it takes is driving 65 (the speed limit on the freeways in urban areas in CA) and getting a bit less in mpg. It is an EVO for Christ's sake...If you cannot afford to fill it up with gas, then you should not have bought it in the first place.

Okay, I know that it IS in fact possible to get over 30 mpg in an Evo, modified no less. I don't remember which, Super Street, or Modified Mag, but in their yearly car competition on overall performance they had an Evo with over 500hp, and on the mpg test they got 31 MPG . This of course was using the usualy tricks of staying out of boost, coasting down hills, and drafting, but it can be done. If you want better mileage, I have a suggestion. Get a lightened pulley set. I got just a crank pulley on my last car and saw a decent increase in mileage, about an extra 50 miles on a tank if I remember right.
Anyway, if anyone wants to know what magazine and issue I am refering to, I can get it for you. I'm just too lazy to look right now.

30 mpg on an evo, I don't know about that, but hey I get 30 mpg with my lancer oz rally...the only way you can get that kind of gas milege is if you buy a fuel efficiency car man, lets face it with more power, comes less mpg and plus its a turbo car, but 28 mpg is not bad.

I get about 24-25 mpg average on a tank. I do quite a bit of hard accelerating on the highway (to pass tractors, semis, etc.), and about 10-15% of my driving is in town. In town I frequently hit 6000 RPM in first or second. The turbo really uses fuel fast. I'll bet, though, that if you drove 55 mph with the A/C off on a straightaway, you could get 30 mpg.

I get about 26mpg average of 95% highway miles. I pretty much always hit 300 miles on a tank. The cars get good mileage when you are just cruising on the highway. Its just when you are in stop an go traffic that it drops way down.

Do you have any tips or tricks for better highway mileage?
Would a flash help partial throttle mileage related performance?
Thanks in advance.

mild alignment? did you change it? why in the hell would you change your cars alignment?
48 psi??? dude do you even know the stock psi for your tires?
