Just got 265 miles with 11.5 gallons.
That was done staying off boost.
Usually below 75mph with mostly highway/some city driving.
Not bad, but I had to keep telling myself to stay off boost.

If you have a boost gauge, stay under 5psi, that's about it. I can shift at 3500-4k if I want to, just don't gun it to get there. It's not really where you shift, but how fast you get to the shifts... Yeah it's not fun and not what this car is for, but I really wanted to see how far I could make it go.

got 363 on my was to south carolina from oklahoma turned the boost down and stayed out of it. i usually get 290-320 per tank and if i drive my car its 100 miles to work and 100 miles home and i still have enough to make it back to work.
like a lot of people said i thinks its just as simple as slowing down. it really does help a lot.

I wonder if people use the boost controllers to lower to the lowest possible,
I know they buy it to go to the max and to go back down to a decent amount but does anyone use it to go the lowest possible?
Sorry if this is a newb question

As of now I actually have it to the lowest setting right now and it peaks at 14psi. I'm just doing this so that when I set it back to 21-22psi sometime later this week, it will actually feel fast again lol.

Just a quick update. The 10 % got me around 1.5-2 mpg difference. Could be driving style, but it seemed to get better mileage. Another odd sidenote; the gas station I usually use that had 20 % has changed and the stickers now say up to 10%.

That's perefctly normal for ethanol blends that you would get slightly lower fuel economy. The higher the ethanol content in the fuel, the lower the gas mileage you get. Volume for volume, ethanol contains only 70-75% of the energy that the same volume of pure gasoline would.

The first tank I used w/ 10% ethanol netted a loss of almost 2 mpg, or 10% worse fuel economy. It cleared up on the 2nd tank, and now I'm back to where it was when there wasn't any ethanol mixed in.

I'm getting better gas mileage and I am not changing my driving habits at all.
While it is true that ethanol has less energy than benzine (regular gas), ethanol has a higher octane rating because it resists detonation much more than benzine. Our ECU's are smarter than the average ones, I"m wondering if it's advancing the timing a bit more or running a bit leaner and getting some more bang out of the mixture? If someone has a datalogger, it would be an interesting comparison.
But I have been consistently 2 to 5 mpg better since the 10% switch, and that's despite the hotter weather, which usually gives worse performance!
