The Walbro doesnt do anything but supply more fuel, just because it goes up under the hood doesnt mean it is used, your ecu still decides how much fuel goes through the injectors. Unused fuel simply returns to the tank... Walbro = support mod

Be happy it is running that good with those mods, time for a tune : )

18 sounds normal to me. most people that i meet get 16-19mpg daily with their evos.
my life time average with the evo is 17-18mpg. i hit 20mpg only once. and i got 23mpg once and thats only with one long freeway trip. over all i get 17mpg. 15mpg when i push it a little and 19mpg when i never hit boost.
its common knowlege that evos are sub 20mpg cars.

Sine it seems like you havn't tuned I'm guessing thats the ticket Your injectors need to be scaled back for the fuel pump... the ECU can do a bit of this on its own, but a true tune is really the way to go
You say true tune...so I guess a mail-in tune won't due, eh...or whould that take care of it...

I dont even have my car fully tuned and I get about 18 mpg daily driving in San Diego traffic. On the highway I get around 25mpg. My tune is still pretty rich up top. Oh I get on it every chance I get too. You definitely need a tune and you will get better MPG.

i get 18 with a tune. your gas mileage depends on how you drive. get a tune and stay out of boost and you may get more.

i rele doubt that cause a stock evo is normally rated at 24mpg and no one rele gets that cause those numbers come from a controlled enviornment not real world driving they dont take into account many factors so in reality you get considerably lower mpgs that stated....and rele doubt that a highly modded car gets close to stock gas milage

i get anywhere from 23-29 mpg consistently for the last however many tanks i cant count, mitsu tune is so rich even with decent modifications and fine tuning i don't see why you couldn't get 24 mpg average.

btw- by "decent" i don't mean a 2.3l w gt42r...
