Just got my oil changed at STM in Rochester NY filled up and drove 400 miles to Boston MA on one tank of gas avg about 70-75mph on the hwy that to me is UNBELIEVABLE! That is 28.6mpg. There was nothing else in the car but me some cheeseitz, a camera and a grocery store bag full of dirty clothes

Just managed 340 miles to a tank, might have been able to squeeze 10-15 more out of her as I drove with my light on for only 10 miles but still, quite pleased

I had a pretty solid tank this past weekend. From my last fill-up (I think this past Thursday), I drove 263.4 miles and filled up this morning with 10.37 gallons, which is a 25.4 mpg average for that tank. Not too bad... the first 20 miles or so were just driving to work and back (during which I usually get crappy gas mileage since my one-way commute is around 1.5 miles and the car is barely warmed up by the time I get to work) while having driven from Orange County to North Hollywood twice to see my family while having the A/C on around a third of the time, usually going 75 mph.

By the way, I have a bone stock Evo IX SE and hit 48,000 miles during my weekend trip.

I got to take the Evo on a nice drive thru the mountains a few weeks from Redding Ca to a few places on the coast and even with boosting on some of the inclines I managed about 28 mpgs. Mostly stock just a filter and catback with stock tune.

That's pretty good... very surprising, though I think the earlier Evo VIIIs did have the best highway mpg rating so maybe that's part of it.

I get roughly 21-22 MPG in my stock daily driver if I drive normal and don't go into boost often. It could probably use some new spark plugs and also a tune.

Last fillup:
12.2 gallons/270 miles = 22.1. Mostly highway @ 65-70mph...

Drove from OKC to Galveston, TX and back. Averaged 20.9mpg on E85. Which from what I read should be 25-27 on pump gas. Not to shabby I dont think.

I need gas mileage like yours.

What is done to the car? Is it stock ECU? MAF? SD?

I hit 28 mpg a couple weekends ago in my bone stock Evo IX SE. It's my fourth-best mpg to date, if I'm not mistaken.

Bumping this thread from the dead! After talking to a few Evo guys last weekend, it looks like I get terrible gas mileage. I dont really care but just think its odd.

E85 - 12-14mpg 120-140 miles per tank
Pump - 16-18mpg 180-200 miles per tank

I also fill up when its at 1/4 tank so that could be part of the reason why the miles are low.

I do about 60-70% around town and where I live has a lot of hills. No flat roads. And the freeway, well its always stop and go. The one time I did a long freeway only drive, I got 240 miles and had a 1/4 tank left on pump gas. The mileage hasnt changed from when it was bone stock to now modified with an aftermarket ECU. I think I am going to try something on my next tank. Set AFR targets to 15.5 below 0 vacuum and see what it does (on E85). Might not help though seeing that I am mostly always in boost!
