On a roadtrip cross-country averaging 85mph I had to fill-up every ~240-260 miles.

Also since there is no cruise control, you will be really tired.

Smile Gas mileage of my MR

I finally got to go on a longer trip and I checked the mileage of my MR. I was pleasantly surprised at getting 23.75 mpg in 247 miles of mixed driving. Around 80% interstate highway (70-80 mph) and 20% city driving.
On the return trip I managed to get 25.9 mpg over 162 miles of driving which included around 60% of interstate and 40% of rural roads including at least 30 miles of twisties . Granted, my wife was in the car so that was the smoothest (read "not fast") bit of twisties driving I've done in years . Still, I think that was very good considering the drive included a good bit of mountain climbing....

Oh yeah, eat your heart out those from expensive gasoline states

Sorry about that guys, don't mean to rub it in but not only that's 93 octane but it's not reformulated Atlanta gas either

Unfortunately, those prices are not what I pay for normally unless I want to drive around North Georgia where all the twisties are.......

How about this for a reason to go? It's a neat little pottery shop at an old mill... Great views, mountain streams, great twisties and cheap gas...
