you will most likely get the same or worse gas mieage-- comp see's more air, compensates with more fuel- get something to lean it out.....=better mileage

You don't need an intake the stock one works fine. If you want some power modifications (mods) get a boost gauge and a manual boost controller (MBC) for starters.

better gas mileage from Hess 93

i normally use Sonoco 94 but two weeks ago i need gas and the only gas station around was a Hess......on that tank of 93 from HESS i went 256 miles and i had about 2 gallons left in the tank......Normally i get about 200-220 miles a tank when i fill up with Sonoco 94...... When that tank of HESS was done i filled up the my normal Sonoco 94 and i got about 190-200.......i was like WTF.....so this week i filled up with HESS and today i have over quarter tank left and and drove 230 miles........ can anyone explan this? i didn't drive any different from week to week and i do drive hard some of the time. any ideas? i think im switching to HESS

Sunoco uses 94 octane as their premium and is 1 octane rating higher than the hess 93 octane....1 octane rating is a BIG difference when it comes to detonation and flamability, therefore the higher octane burns quicker...other than that explanation....i have no clue...any other explanations?

You can run 91 or even 92 in the car, and it will be fine( depending on your car). Higher octane will not add horsepower, unless you car is knocking at a lower octane, it will give it back the lost horsepower. I see people all the time waste their money on sunoco 94, when it really doesnt do anything. Yes what your saying about sunoco 94 sounds reasonable, sunoco 94 is ethanol, and burns much faster( thus consuming more fuel). I personally use shell 93 and have had no problems.

I guess hes right about the ethanol..that makes a perfect explanation for fuel consumption...use 93 at the hess...you'll be fine and you'll save $...Your car requires "Premium Fuel Only" so in that case, you can use any premium gasoline accross the country because premium is premium...

Talking Driving long distances

Over the weekend I drove about 500 miles North on the I-5 I started with a whole tank of fuel and only had to stop 1 time for more fuel. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone on any long trips in there Evo and if they were comfortible with no cruise control and firm Recaro seats?

ive done 3 trips at 960 miles a piece in between tucson and santa rosa, ca, thats an hour and half north of san fransisco. ive also done one drive from tucson to philadelphia, pa just a month ago. about 2600 miles. all the rides were fine for me. didnt have any back lower back problems or anything. i was crusin with my buddy who has an integra GSR on the trip cross country and he was waay more uncomfortable, mostly because of his exhaust, its loud as sh*t. he has a tanabe. anyways the rides were fine, the car cruises so nice at those speeds. get to drive with tons of other cars too which is always fun. id do it again.

i drive about 200 miles a week, 40 miles a a night to work back and forth. i have no problem driving in the recaros, as for fuel i get about 4 days use on a full tank of gas. the evo is not reall fuel efficent. but thats the cost you have to pay for owning a car of this class.

My guess is that I put just about as many miles on my EVO as anyone. I drive 60+ miles every day commuting to work. I also drive from my house to my parents in Idaho about once every other month (approx 220 miles each way). Right after I bought it I took a 9hr trip with my wife to Lake Tahoe. And just a few weeks ago we drove down to Dana Point (about 11 hours).

Never had an issue or any complaints. Ok, I guess a cruise control would be nice but the lack thereof has never really bothered me.

I bought my EVO last July and I just turned 20K miles. So yeah, I drive it a bunch and love every minute of it.
