I took a road trip from New Hampshire to Maryland in my EVO. With the miles there and back, plus the driving I did around the area there, I probably put 1800 mile on the car. I drove about 9 hours straight to get down there, only stopping for a fuel and a quick bite to eat. I never got uncomfortalbe in those seats. My friend sleep a good protion of the way and said the seats were even good for sleeping!

I drive to visit the parents about every other month, it's a 9 hour drive from the panhandle area of Florida to Miami, the trip is about 575 miles each way, and I have to gas up twice. The seats weren't a problem for me, but one time I carried a passenger with me and he complained about backpain afterwards. I thought cruise control could be a problem as my previous car had it and I consistantly used it during the trip, but prior to buying the Evo I intentionally drove down there one time without using it the whole trip and it wasn't that bad, so now I have the Evo and I keep my foot on the padel the entire way.

I thought about renting a car just for the trip since I usually go for the weekend... Also the clear coating on the car would help reduce that chip problem.

my wife and I take weekend trips all the time all over VA, MD, WV and PA, and we usually take the Evo. Cruise control would be the only thing I'd add/change.

The ride is no worse than a civic on cut springs.

I find the evo to be the ultimate city car. Personally, I would not drive it more than 50 miles anywhere. You guys going hundreds of miles are hardcore! I salute you. My butt gets sore after 20 minutes. A smooth highway might make all the difference though.

I actually try to avoid going into the city (DC) in my Evo... the constant stop and go with my clutch is murder on my leg Nothing beats cruising in the country with all 4 windows down and the engine humming along, with the occasional turbo spool up and blow off as you pass trucks and slowpokes with the greatest of ease
