Evo as a pizza delivery car?

Poor Evo...that should be a crime punishable by a prison sentence.

I used to deliver pizzas when I was in college. I would never consider using my evo to deliver pizzas with. It isn't bad money for what the job is it just kills your car. To answer question stay out of boost or turn the boost down is about the only way to save on gas. What I would really do is buy an Geo Metro. That is what I used to deliver pizzas in and I think got around 40 mpg.

$80-$90 buy and install a Hallman Mechenical boost controller; buy a Blow Off Valve(BOV) to listen for vented air. Turn BoostController into low boost, which will kick in at higher RPM. Then shift below that RPM. As long as you don't hear "psssss" coming from the BOV, you will be running on 4-cylinder car

I shift around 2500 -2800 rpms, anything lower and youll lug the engine. Dont haul *** from one stoplight to the next and you should be fine.

When I was breaking in my clutch on my Eclipse and had an AFC, I was able to get 25mpg city and 36mpg highway by staying out of boost and applying the gas pedal slowly. Doesn't make for real fun driving though or fast deliveries. The money you will lose in tips will probably offset the gas you save

I think it puts a lot of stress on the main bearings when you lug the engine causing accelerated wear and even premature failure.

You would also get some carbon build up.

i make good money delivering pizzas like $550 -$700 take home a week. that might sound rediculous but i make $8.50 an hour in my check then another like $10-$15 dollars an hour in tips. i like to use my evo for delivery. im loaning out my civic right now to some girl, and i guess im gonna regret that a lot now. ya it does smell like pizza sometimes but nothin a little frebreeze cant help. i even used my 350z to deliver pizza and it was better on gas then the evo.
