It probably was clean. Carfax only shows what has been reported. If the previous owner crashed it and repaired out of his pocket then the carfax is clean. You're pretty much screwed.

Do you have it lowered? That could be the rubbing part. I know I am rubbing on my right fender wall and its because the tire is hitting the fender wall. Roll the fender wall or take them out. Just my .02 cents

I remember reading something about the turn right rubbing thing a while ago....
some ome had pointed out it was a wheel bearing going bad and suggested to replace inner and outer on both front/back sides.

dude like people have said, carfax doesn't really mean that much. Carfax would be awesome if everyone reported everything including accidents or maintenance/warranty work but fact is a lot of people don't. When I ran the vin on my car before I bought it, the only useful thing i got out of the report was when the vehicle was bought and titled by the previous owner. My report was clean too but I still inspected it as meticulously as possible. Although I doubt it, that dealer may not have known either about this. They are a bunch of tools who probably rely on carfax.

I feel for you. I got my Evo from my boss' friend who is a car broker. After a year of ownership, I go to gut out the trunk and notice that the right rear corner looked a little odd. He had told me he got me a car that had never been in a wreck, he even claimed he used a paint meter to make sure nothing had been resprayed.
Well, I find out that the right rear quarter panel had been replaced because I pull off a Mitsubishi parts sticker from the inside of the rear quarter. Then afterwards I looked at my car closely and realized that the gaps between my trunk and tailights were uneven. It still bugs me to this day. I don't even know how much it would cost to fix it, or if it is even worth fixing, or if it can be fixed properly. This **** bugs me like crazy.
Best of luck, because I just keep telling myself one day I'm going to get it fixed right.

I would look into sueing the people who sold it to you. You where sold a car based on the fact its still within factory spec. This case should be a win on your part if the dealer says its been replaced thats where your case starts.
