everyone knows that stock evos don't exist. its an urban legend. the only stock evos you'll ever find are the ones still in the dealer womb (i.e. brand spankin new)

Wrong. my evo is pretty much stock apart from rotors, pads, a turbo timer, and tint.

Ergo, not stock.

Possibly, but it's also possible it's not really bouncing at 5600. I've seen plenty of people swear their stock 05-06 Evo had the 2-step set to 5500 from the factory when we all know it's supposed to be 5k.

my friends 2 step at 5500 05 evo 8 no flash....When i loaded the flash to his car the factory flash had stationary rev limit at 5500 he bought the car new and this was the first flash so i believe your car is fine...the only way they can tell if your cars computer has been flashed is by sending the computer to mitsu and they can read when the computer has been communicated with using the OBDII port. So if you want that extended warranty you will be fine-JOEYD

There is only one rom for the 2005 Evo, ID 96940011 and it has the stationary rev limit at 5000 rpm. That is what it is, no use in arguing about it.

If your friends rom had it at 5500 rpm it was reflashed for that.

Every single USDM evo rom from 03-06 and every variant in the years has the stationary rev limiter at 5000 rpm.

That is incorrect. Every USDM Evo from 05-06 has had the stationary rev limiter at 5000. The earlier USDM Evos had it set above the rev limit.

Oops you are correct, I was too quick to reply. My apologies. 03-04 have it set at 7969rpm.
