How easy was it to remove the stuff? Protectant shouldn't come off with the simple wipe of the hand.
Now, if you're using brake cleaner or WD40 to dissolve it and them scrubbing it off, then stop it. Bad....

I have it too. I'm sure it has a valid purpose being there, maybe it keeps everything from rusting or something. It's interesting that after almost 3 years of constant driving in wet and dusty conditions it still looks and feels fresh. And yes I did get it in my hair .
The best type of undercoating you should not be able to remove without a strong dissolver. Mits' will come off is your rub it.
