I don't believe it! Is everyone's clutch dying at under 10k miles?

Well after 20k miles on my stock clutch, all these postings on clutch failure had me so worried i bought a twin disk exedy. When the mitsu guy pulled my stock clutch out.. 85% was still left. I give my car a little work out every so.. but i dont launch, and i dont beat or ride my clutch. So it goes to show, if your good to your clutch, its good to you. But who cares now iiiii gott a twinnn exeeddyyy yiippeeee!

I got 16K miles and no problems on the clutch. I only launch hard every now and then... two to three times a month maybe? Most of the time I drive normal. But, I'll have an aftermarket clutch on the list of mods in the future.

You're my new hero. 13,250 and still stock with no problems. However, does everyone else on the stock clutch, when it's cold in the morning, is the clutch kinda finicky? Mine kinda grabs nasty like until it warms up and then it's like butter.

And I installed the XEDE last year in late December or early January -- the mornings were quite cold, and the difference in the car's behavior in the morning was like night and day.

Thanks for the input. I don't plan to mod (at last not until the warranty is out) so I'll just chalk it up to the cold. Like I say, it doesn't do it in the summer but it's starting to get colder here in CO. And to me it seems like the Evo just doesn't like cold weather at all, it shifts worse, rattles more, seems to ride rougher. But then I just slam the gas around a corner and that grin makes it all worth while.

20k miles, lots of autocrossing (no pro solo launches). The clutch has been smoked pretty bad a couple of times, but still holds well when you launch.
At this rate I expect to replace the clutch by the end of the year ~25-28k miles. In comparison, I had the clutch replaced in my WRX @ 18k, so the mitsubishi clutch has held up better than what I got with a 2002 WRX.
go figure....
