I have over 70,000 miles on my lancer and my clutch is just now going out, I'm about to replace it with a stage 1 from road/race.

Would that be on a Lancer OZ Rally or on a Lancer Evolution?

Being how this forum is in the Evo General section, you would think that......

I'm at 9k miles. I BABY the hell out of my car. (03 Rally Red EVO) It is at the garage right now, tranny laying out of it, getting a clutch replacement. I went with the ACT 2600 with the street disc (for driveability AND stability). I first made the mistake of taking it to the dealer, where basically the service dept. mgr. laughed at me and said I was "abusing" the car, and that was causing the clutch to slip. He also progressed to tell me that my Evo was FRONT WHEEL DRIVE, and started explaining reasons why you can't just dump the clutch in a front wheel drive car all the time. He also told my mom, who was with me (someone had to drive me there, lol) that when he was my age (21) he had a Mustang Cobra that he had to replace the clutch and tires on about every 6k miles. I then proceeded to tell him that he was the biggest MORON that I had ever met, that my car was an AWD car, and that I didn't give a big rat's *** about his POS Mustang. Then, I left...........

Thats all....

It really depends on the attitude of the service department you go to.... I have a 2003 350z, and my transmission started to grind at 19,000 miles. The dealer I took it to didn't hassle me in any way, and I have a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust. They installed new seat covers, a new transmission, a new clutch assembly, and rebuilt the rear axels. It was about $4,300 dollars in warranty work that they covered! I have drag raced the car many times, and Tim Dahle Nissan's service department never claimed abuse. The technicians even knew that the guy i bought the car from had autocrossed it many times!

I never launched over 4000 rpms and most of the time it was from a rolling start. I drive hard everyday but always felt I babied the clutch. I only smelt burnt clutch around 1000 mile mark. After that have not smelt it again. Clutch was doing great till 9,400 miles then noticed it started gradually slipping. It is driveable, but I new from the start the clutch was weak. My tuner that helped me build my integra told me when I showed up at his shop with the new evo, "First thing you need to do is change out the clutch, it is the weak point of this car."

I love my car and it is just a clutch no big deal, will be changing in the next 2 weeks, so will someone help me with what clutch kit to buy.

Want it to hold over 400 awhp, pedal feel over stock is okay as long as it is not to hard, chatterring is okay, and definately want it to handle a drag launch. and to last at least 20,000 miles
