I don't believe it! Is everyone's clutch dying at under 10k miles?

Revhappy the cars that you talked about are not awd. If you want to drag race don't do it on public streets. If you launch your car hard a destroy your clutch don't expect it to be covered under warranty. Any manufacture if they inspect your clutch and notice hot spots will not warranty your clutch.

I Have just under 5k on my clutch and have had no problems. Iv done a couple of launches kicked it sideway once or twice and ripped a axis spin once. Other then that i dont drive to agressivley i just cruise around until something worthy rolls up next to me. My buddy with an MR has launched hes car a bunch and done a couple axis spins and has over 10k on is clutch.

I need to know for certain if my clutch is slipping. Its been getting a little worse and I only have had the car for 2 days. when you get on the gas and shift up the car revs freely while I shift 500 sometimes 800 rpms. I believe this is the stock clutch going out but I need to be sure. Sorry I'm a newb.
Edit: This is only when I go say 4k rpms just driving the car normally keeping it under or around 3k it doesnt do it.

My friend has an sti and has made numerous track visits, one of which he made 20+ passes. His car last night still pulled a 1.74 60ft. All that "abuse", and it is still holding strong. Must be nice.

When I got my evo it had 200 HARD miles on it. I drag-stripped it 9 times and auto-crossed 2 times. When I traded it in it had 24,xxx on the stock clutch.
The car had over 300+ whp by 1200 miles. I beat the **** out of it and never had a clutch issue.
Conclusion: No problems here. I miss the evo badly and would recommend it to anyone. Now if only it wasn't a mitsubishi
